Ashes, petri dish, enlarger, 150 watt tungsten lightbulbs

Drawn to the aftermath of fire, I here explore ash as a paradox: a physical memory of energy released and matter reduced. Using my background in analogue photography, I replace film negatives with ash in darkroom enlargers. While a negative is permanent, this process treats ash as a transient medium, where two images are ever the same.
